Ryan Thomas – Actor and TV Personality
Ryan is a British actor and TV Personality, best known for playing the role of Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap Coronation Street and winning 22nd Series of Celebrity Big Brother.
Born in Manchester, Ryan made his on-screen debut in the show age 16, and Corrie fans fell in love with Jason’s endearing and likable character. After 16 years on the show, Ryan decided to pursue other opportunities in the acting world.
After leaving Coronation Street, Ryan starred in roles such as Rafael Humphreys in Channel 5’s Australian soap opera Neighbours. He has also taken to the stage in the pantomime renditions of Cinderella and Peter Pan.
In 2017, Ryan featured in the Channel 4 series, Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, where Ryan and 9 other Celebrities battled it out to survive on a secluded island with no resources.
In 2018, Ryan took part in the 22nd series of Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 and was subsequently crowned winner of the series. That year the show hit record-breaking viewing figures, with an average audience of 1.4 million tuning into the Saturday night show – the most viewed Celebrity Big Brother episode in 4 years.
In 2020, along with his two brothers, Adam and Scott, and their late Father Dougie, Ryan starred in a ITV reality series, travelling to India to discover his Indian heritage. The six-part series, Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai explores the tight bond of the three brothers and their relationship with their father. Filled with humour and anticipation, the family try to hunt down their long-lost relatives in one of the most hectic cities in the world.
Ryan co-hosts popular podcast, Mancs on the Mic alongside his two brothers, Adam and Scott. They talk about childhood memories, as well as their most embarrassing moments so far.
In 2022 Ryan appeared as a contestant in Celebrity MasterChef. He also participated in the Celebrity Antiques Road trip, winning against contestant Kimberly Walsh.
In 2023, Ryan appeared on The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show alongside Scott and Adam and was crowned the 2024 winner of ITV’s Dancing on Ice.
Commercially, Ryan has worked with some of the nation’s favourite family brands including Hello Fresh, PG Tips, Old El Paso, Nerf, McDonalds, Soda Stream and Water Wipes. He is also an ambassador for Sky.
